Blue River Husky Restaurant – A favourite of long-distance drivers, fuel up for your day with a hearty breakfast at this roadhouse diner adjacent to the Husky gas station on the northbound side of the Yellowhead Highway. No matter what time you roll in, breakfast is served all day. Not in the mood for a mid-day breakfast? That’s okay, the Husky features traditional diner fare for lunch and dinner. Janie’s General Store – Follow the signs from the highway to the railway tracks and discover Janie’s General Store, built in 1912, now one of the three oldest historically preserved stores in British Columbia. Wander the aisle, shopping for just-made treats to take on the trail. Have a coffee and chat up the locals. Log Inn Pub Stop in for “world-famous” burgers (the only thing besides homemade jerky on the menu) – you’ll find Larry, the proprietor of the Log Inn Pub manning the bar and the grill station, cooking up the “Mother of all Burgers” to order, talking motorcycles and sledding with the gathered crowd. Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 213 Blue River’s favourite watering hole – the Royal Canadian Legion is where you’ll meet the locals gathered for a game of cards, a cold beer, sharing stories of their sledding and fishing adventures. A licensed bar (the only one in town), “The Legion” is where the community gathers for seasonal celebrations.
